Project Studio Program 2026

The Project Studio Program is a one year private studio rented to professional fine artists residing within the New York City metropolitan area. Students are not eligible for the program. Categories are painting, sculpture, mixed media, digital, drawing, installation. At the conclusion of the studio year, there is a group exhibition of the Project Studio Artists in PS122 Gallery.

The studio term starts August 1, 2026 and ends July 30, 2027.

Deadline is 11:59 PM on March 10.  Notification will be sent by May 5, 2026. 

The building is a non-smoking facility with 24 hour access and elevator service. Applicants must have a local address within reasonable commutable distance to lower Manhattan. Subletting or sharing of project studios is not permitted. Former project studio artists are eligible to reapply two years after end date of their residency.

Application Requirements: five work samples, resume and your preference for studio size. 
Please review floorplan showing square footage and studio images (see below) before starting your application. For the studio size questions, answer small or large and list your preference using studio numbers from floorplan.

There is no fee to apply.
